DENVER, N.C. (Feb. 11, 2019) -- Longtime NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) veteran Mike Harmon will return for the 2019 season, marking his 19th year in NASCAR’s second-tier national series. Harmon’s first start in the series came in 1998 at South Boston Speedway.

Harmon, who recently turned 61 last month, plans to run the full NXS schedule by virtue of new sponsors and resources.

“As many know, it takes sponsorship to compete,” said Mike Harmon, team principal and driver of the No. 74. “Our team has worked very hard during the off-season to secure new and returning sponsors and I’m very confident of our abilities to compete this year.”

Harmon and the Denver, North Carolina-based team spent the off-season clearing out the shop of outdated cars and parts and securing newer equipment, including a composite body Chevrolet Camaro.

Harmon’s season will start this weekend at the Daytona International Speedway for the NASCAR Racing Experience 300. Represented on board the No. 74 machine will be a variety of sponsors.
Air One Heating and Cooling will serve as the primary sponsor with Team Room Design, Perseverance Survival, Freedom Customization, Veterans For Child Rescue and Smitty’s Beard Sauce also located on the car.

“We are excited to welcome back some returning sponsors from last year as well as welcome new ones to the MHR team,” remarked Harmon.

The NASCAR Racing Experience 300 will be broadcast live on FS1 beginning at 2:30 p.m., ET on Saturday, February 16.
