Race Pick for the STP 500
This weekend the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is in Virginia at Martinsville Speedway for the 66th annual STP 500! Martinsville is the shortest track on the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit. This weekend I am going with a Georgia native who is making his debut in the Sprint Cup Series, 19 year old Chase Elliott! Elliott will start 27th in the #25 Napa Auto Parts Chevrolet SS in Sunday's STP 500. He currently has 38 starts and races full time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Elliott won the championship last season and currently has a total of 30 top 10's, 19 top 5's and 3 wins in the Xfinity Series. Next year Elliott will race full time in the Sprint Cup Series taking Jeff Gordon's place in the #24 of Hendrick Motorsports. Gordon announced earlier this year that he would be retiring after the 2015 season. The #22 of Joey Logano will start on the pole for Sunday's race.
Catch the race Sunday on FOX SPORTS 1, 1p.m. ET

As we all know, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend for the Kobalt 400. This weekend I am choosing the #42 Target Chevrolet driven by Kyle Larson to take the checkered flag. The 22 year old is already making a name for himself. He already has 42 starts in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Along with 63 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (formerly known as the Nationwide Series) and 9 starts in the Camping World Truck Series. Larson will take the green flag from row 3 in the 5th position. I feel that Larson is capable of winning this race. He is now in his 2nd full time season in the Sprint Cup Series. He has one Sprint Cup start at Vegas witch was last year. He started 17th and finished 19th. Larson had 8 top 5's, 17 top 10's and 1 pole in 2014 but didn't make it to victory lane. This season I believe that Larson will be leading many laps, getting poles and even wins!
