Daytona this past weekend was crazy to say the least! From Kyle Busch returning to the track that put him out of a race car for over a month, to Dale Earnhardt Jr. taking the checkered flag at nearly 3 o'clock in the morning, the 4th of July race weekend at Daytona International Speedway was definitely full of action! On Friday, the NASCAR Xfinity Series raced under the lights at Daytona in the Subway Firecracker 250.  Grandson of Richard Childress, Austin Dillion was able to take home the hardware after leading only 9 laps of the 100 lap race. This marked Dillion's 3rd win of the 2015 season. Brain Scott, who led 84 laps was knocked out of race due to a multi car wreck on lap 96. Austin Dillion was able to make it through the crash without trouble and make it ahead of the #1 of Elliott Sadler on the restart. On Sunday, the Sprint Cup Series was scheduled to race around 8 o'clock p.m. but had to be delayed due to rain. 20 NASCAR Air Titans, and 10 jet dryers got the track race ready in 2 hours. The green flag was finally shown around 11:40 p.m. It didn't take long for the 1st caution to come out in the Coke Zero 400. Approaching lap 3, David Gilliland tried to move to the bottom in front of Clint Bowyer but instead Gilliland spun out and a multi car crash was formed damaging 11 cars. On lap 16, Kyle Busch, at the track that caused him to miss several races, got loose and hit the wall. Busch lost a lap but got back on the lead lap on the next caution. With only 73 laps to go, Kyle Larson got loose and spun out creating a pile up. Edwards slid up the track and Brain Scott ran into the back of him causing heavy damage. With 55 laps to go, a large wreck was formed when Kasey Kahne and Matt Kenseth got together causing several other drivers damage. The debris in the incident caused Danica Patrick to get a flat tire. After Dale Jr. crossed the finish line, a frightening crash sent Austin Dillion's car flying into the catch fence entering Turn 1. Many crew members from different teams ran to the scene to check on him and help him get out of the destroyed race car. The crew members gave a thumbs up to the fans letting them know that Dillon was okay.
