Mike Harmon and the No. 74 Mike Harmon Racing team earned their best finish since 2013 on Friday night, placing 21st in the Coca-Cola Firecracker 250 at Daytona International Speedway.
Harmon began the 250-mile event from 37th, after qualifying had to be canceled due to weather which resulted in the field being set per the NASCAR Rule Book.
Harmon was able to maneuver through two major incidents, overcome a loss of power and make several adjustments to ultimately bring home the fourth best result of his career in the No. 74 Journey Home Project / Horizon Transport Chevy.
In a crazy finish, Kyle Larson claimed the victory while Elliott Sadler finished second. Christopher Bell, Ryan Blaney and Kaz Grala rounded out the top five.
The No. 74 team carried the HELMINERON FIFTEEN Naval Squadron on the windshield banner.
The NASCAR Xfinity Series is back on track on July 13 at Kentucky Speedway for the Alsco 300 (8 p.m. ET, NBCSN).
