DENVER, N.C. (August 29, 2018) - Veterans For Child Rescue (V4CR) is set to make their NASCAR debut in a dual sponsorship with the No. 74 Mike Harmon Racing NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams. Founded by Craig “Sawman” Sawyer, the V4CR organization will debut in the NASCAR Xfinity Series on Oct. 6 at Dover International Speedway followed by their NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Martinsville Speedway on Oct. 27.
The V4CR organization was founded in April 2017 by Veteran Navy Seal DEVGRU sniper Craig Sawyer to raise awareness for child trafficking and the exploitation of children. V4CR works with education partners in schools, churches and communities and supports law enforcement with training and resources to help improve capabilities.
Raised in Houston, Texas, Sawyer joined the the U.S. Marine Corps not long after high school. He then moved into the U.S. Navy for what would become a 13-year tenure as a U.S. Navy Seal. After combat action in Desert Storm, he served as a SEAL Sniper Instructor until being promoted to DEVGRU where he spent most of his tactical career. After serving in the Navy, he joined the Federal Air Marshal Service where he would remain for 5 years, reaching the management rank. Sawyer then went on to gain ample experience contracting in diverse combat zones, running tactical teams as well as protecting high-level U.S. Dignitaries. Since, he has transitioned into the film and television world starring in all 5 seasons of History channel's Top Shot as well as roles in multiple other shows such as Battleground: Rhino Wars. He was also a contributor in the documentary Sniper: Deadliest Missions.
“NASCAR has a rich history that Americans really appreciate. Even the word NASCAR evokes excitement and thoughts of the kind high-octane racing Americans have grown to love and enthusiastically follow. Beyond that, NASCAR fans are, at their very core, what America stands for. Our organization relies on you, the hardest working, best hearted, salt of the Earth people. Having our Veterans For Child Rescue logo placed on a MHR Xfinity and Truck Series with this level of exposure means Americans across the country will see our brand and know we're serious about gaining their support for our mission. It is our hope that, by raising awareness of child trafficking, that you, the fans and supporters of NASCAR will RISE UP and become part of the solution, which our country so desperately needs right now. Safeguarding children from predators is something everyone can agree upon and this type of promotion will help us carry out that mission. Everyone at Veterans For Child Rescue is energized at this opportunity and we can't wait to see the proud V4CR logo on the Mike Harmon Racing #74 NASCAR Xfinity and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series,” stated Craig "Sawman" Sawyer, President of Vets For Child Rescue.
Stand with America's Veterans and fight to end the exploitation of children by supporting this mission at www.Vets4ChildRescue.org and tune in to NBCSN on Oct. 6 to see V4CR debut in NASCAR.
“Everyone at Mike Harmon Racing is honored to partner with Veterans 4 Child Rescue. We stand with Craig and his incredible team of Veterans, Law Enforcement and many other agencies against child trafficking. The importance to get his organization out there by the resources we have is vital. We as parents and a society must not take this epidemic lightly! We must protect our children at every cost! We are grateful for V4CR for standing up and taking these predators down. This is way more than a partnership, this is coming together, building forces, and making that change,” said Mike Harmon, owner of Mike Harmon Racing.
